Chi Chi Amor gets WONDERFUL (unsolicited) press!!

Posted on: January 11, 2010 by Shari | (0)
We are absolutely beyond grateful to the universe for bringing us two magical, important, and truly exciting pieces of really incredible press in the recent months!  We keep crossing our fingers (ok, and maybe visiting the websites and pleading, just a little?) for an invitation from Oprah or Ellen to come on their show(s)!  Please check out the following two links.  We hope they stay active, at least until our appearance on Oprah.  ;) BIG THANKS to reporters, Leigh Spann (wfla), and Nerissa Prest (Fox News 13), for putting together these two fabulous news features! And a tremendous hug and shout out to our friend Annie, owner of Yogani Studios www.yoganistudios.com (who carries Chi Chi Amor), and our neighbor and homegirl, Amy Haynie, owner of the totally cool, chic, hip, eco-rad Seminole Height’s store, Tampa Street Market www.tampastreetmarket.com.  Please click on the following two links to learn all you need to know about Danielle & Shari, our Guatemalan Mayan producers/collaborators, and Chi Chi Amor! We are so excited today because our new shipment just arrived on my doorstep! We’ve got some old Chi Chi Amor staples to share with you (though, no two Chi Chi Amor items are alike, of course!), and some new, totally beautiful items (photos coming soon!)  Come back in a few days to see the Marley dress in the most gorgeous shades of purple and green, dyed with aloe (purple) and perricon (green), thanks   to our talented Guatemalan Mayan friend, Filomena, who creates the most amazing natural  dyes out of the plants she grows in her own yard.   You will LOVE our new, colorful pants, hand-woven by Pedro Yax, and the most adorable repurposed/ recycled back-packs for kids, thanks to our talented artisan friend, Alphonso (see photo of Alphonso, below)! Danielle & Shari with Chi Chi Amor artisan, Alphonso, who makes our beautiful repurposed 'corte' diaper bags and backpacks.

Chi Chi Amor supports CHOAIDS event

Posted on: August 8, 2008 by Anna Moore | (0)
Last month, we donated a gorgeous pair of our handmade, recycled huipil booties to support a fundraiser for CHOAIDS, (Caring for Haitian Orphans with AIDS). The goal of this event was to raise money to cover the rent and mounting monthly expenses for the orphanage in Haiti. It gives us great satisfaction to be able to participate in events such as these. Chi Chi Amor is deeply committed to supporting social justice causes around the globe, particularly those that improve the lives of children. If you are affiliated with such an organization, please email us and tell us about it. It is fundamentally important to us at Chi Chi Amor, to share our success as it comes, with those in need, in as many ways as possible.
